Patti Adams Wadsworth

Lakewood Ranch, Fla. — Patti Adams Wadsworth, 59, of Lakewood Ranch died Sunday July 14, 2013.

Patti was the daughter of the late Fred and Thelma Adams in Lebanon, N.H. She graduated from Lebanon High School and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of New Hampshire.

Patti began her working career as a secretary and office manager. She later operated her own business offering employee medical insurance to small businesses in the Lebanon area. She served her hometown as a member of the Lebanon City Council and various Council Committees.

Patti very much enjoyed golf. She loved to play and also supported the game in many ways. She was a former Board Member of the Florida Women’s State Golf Association. She was a former President of the Area Council of Women Golfers and served as their Tournament Chair. She was also a former member of a USGA course rating team. She also served as a volunteer tournament rules person for local events.

After Patti and her husband Rick moved to Florida in 2001, she reunited with her love of piano and began piano lessons. She played for her own enjoyment and got great satisfaction from learning new music. She was also an accomplished cook who enjoyed the challenge of new recipes and never hesitated to try them. Patti’s home was always welcoming with great food and her eclectic yet appropriate music selections playing in the background for friends or family to enjoy.

Patti’s favorite hobby was quilt making. She loved to create quilts and made many, many quilts over the years. She gave quilts to friends, donated quilts for charitable causes and entered quilts in competitions. She was awarded a second place ribbon for her entry in the 2013 Vermont Quilt Festival and she was proud to add it to her collection of past successes. She was a founding member of Monkeys in the Middle, a group of select quilters dedicated to furthering the fun and fellowship of quilt making.

Patti is survived by her husband, Rick; her son, Jonathan E. Laurie of Bonita Springs, Fla.; her brother, John Adams of Mansfield, Mass., her sister, Nancy Gerow of Lebanon, N.H. and her sister, Jodie Dubuque of South Burlington, Vt.

Friends are invited to gather at the Laurel Oak Country Club on Thursday, July 18 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to share memories of Patti in an informal setting. A celebration of her life will be held at a later time in New Hampshire.
