Former Thetford Elementary Teacher Joins Upper Valley Educators Institute

Lebanon — Aimee Toth, of Post Mills, has joined Upper Valley Educators Institute as associate director for elementary education. In that role, she will take primary responsibility for coordinating the pedagogical training of elementary education interns.

Toth, a teacher for 13 years, has taught kindergarten, second grade and fourth grade. Most recently, she taught at Thetford Elementary School. There, she co-led a collaboration among teaching faculty about new classroom assessment skills in preparation for the school’s transition to Common Core Standards. Throughout her teaching career, she has taken on several leadership roles, primarily in the area of school-wide curriculum development.

Toth holds a bachelor’s degree from Taylor University in Upland, Ind., and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Plymouth State University. She earned National Board Certification in 1999 and is a recipient of Randolph County’s Bright Idea award.

“Coming to UVEI in this capacity is my dream job and an acknowledgement of my work as an educator,” Toth said in a recent news release. “I am looking forward to working with people as they develop their understanding of what it means to become a reflective teacher.” — Staff report
