Letter: Election Is Over, But Not Campaigning

To the Editor:

Yes, Peter Burling, the election is over. Why then, is President Obama traveling all over the country campaigning to have voters contact their representatives in Congress to encourage them to support the president’s dictatorial position on the so-called fiscal cliff?

In my opinion, it would be more reasonable if Obama and the Congress all stayed in Washington and held nonpartisan discussions until they arrived at a solution that will benefit the entire country and not someone’s ego.

In reference to the situation in Libya, which occurred on 9/11, may I remind Burling that four Americans lost their lives because of the incompetence of the Obama administration. If the president at that time had been a Republican, I have no doubt that Burling would be singing a different tune.
