Maynard R. Dubuque
Lebanon, N.H. — Maynard R. Dubuque, 91, a lifelong resident of Lebanon and the Upper Valley died at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012.
Maynard was born Aug. 13, 1921, in Lebanon to William D, Dubuque Sr. and Aldora (Hurteau) Dubuque. He is predeceased by his wife, Anita (Marquis), his mother and father and his two brothers, Francis Dubuque of Lebanon and William Dubuque Jr. of Hillsborough, N.H.
Maynard is survived by his two sons, Thomas Dubuque, Sr. of Lebanon and Richard Dubuque of Grantham, N.H.; five grandsons, Thom Dubuque, Jr., James Dubuque, Joseph Dubuque, Michael Dubuque, and Kevin Dubuque; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The last eight years he was living in Grantham, N.H. with his son, Richard.
Maynard was a graduate of both the Sacred Heart School and Lebanon High School in 1938, married his wife of 59 years in 1941 and served in the US Navy during WWII. Upon returning from the war he worked in the Lebanon and Mascoma Woolen mills and left as the overseer of the stock department when they closed in 1959. He then joined the Lebanon school system where he worked as a custodian and bus driver at Elementary, Middle and Senior High Schools and retired in 1984.
Maynard was a past member of the Lebanon Elks Lodge and a member of the American Legion Post 22. Maynard was an avid fisherman throughout most of his active life and he enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. As he transitioned into more senior activities he became an avid computer and internet user - e-mailing with friends and family and playing many card games with other internet users from all over the world.
Family and friends are invited to calling hours at the Ricker Funeral Home in Lebanon on Monday, Dec.10, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Church in Lebanon.
