Ernesta Helen Watson
Lebanon, N.H. — Ernesta Helen Watson, 99, passed away in the comfort of her home on Thursday, July 24, 2014. She was born on April 13, 1915, to the late Willie Wallace & Annie Maria (French) Wooster. Ernesta grew up in Canaan, N.H. and graduated from Margaret Pillsbury School of Nursing.
She had worked for several medical institutions in Florida and New York; locally she worked at Alice Peck Day Hospital, Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital and retired from the VA in White River Junction, Vt. as evening supervisor. Ernesta was a faithful member of the Lebanon United Methodist Church where she was the president of the United Methodist Woman’s Group, head of the committee that wrote thank you notes for those who donated following the devastating fire at the church and a member of Friday AM Bible study. She was also a member of the local Grange. Ernesta enjoyed travel, roses and candy. Her greatest passion was her family.
She is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Carr of Lebanon and Linda Armstrong and her husband, George of Lebanon; a son, James Watson and his wife, Ann of Leverett, Mass., 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Ernesta was predeceased by an infant son, two sisters Helen Fogg and Ruth Wheeler and a brother Wallace Wooster.
Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Ernesta’s life at the Lebanon United Methodist Church on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at 10 a.m.; burial will follow in the Wells Cemetery in Canaan, N.H. An online guest book is available by visiting www.rickerfuneralhome.com.
