Dartmouth Women’s Golf Nips Hawks
Bloomfield, Conn. — Senior Sarah Knapp shot a 7-over-par 79 at Tumblebrook Country Club to lead the Dartmouth College women’s golf team to a three-stroke victory in a dual match against Hartford on Sunday.
Jane Lee followed up with an 8-over 80 for Dartmouth. Savannah Grice and Tara Simmons (both 82) rounded out the scoring for the Big Green, which shot 323 as a team to the Hawks’ 326.
The match was Dartmouth’s final tuneup before this weekend’s Ivy League Championship, which will be held at the Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J.
Tilton 5, KUA 4
Tilton, n.h. — The host Rams scored the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge Kimball Union on Saturday.
Catcher Halle Murray had a big day for the Wildcats. Murray began by scoring on a Sofia DiAntonio double in the top of the first inning and ended the afternoon 2-for-2 with three runs scored. Sophomore pitcher Kayleigh Coombs struck out five and didn’t allow a hit until the fifth inning for KUA.
Kimball Union hosts St. Paul’s on Tuesday in its home opener.
