Letter: Go for Bach
To the Editor:
The March 31 Bach-a-thon was great fun for the many who participated in celebrating Bach’s birthday. Special praise should go to Margaret Gilmore, who dreamed up and organized the 10-hour event — and to Our Savior Lutheran Church, which so graciously hosted us. There were many different ensembles and delightful renderings of Bach’s music. For me, the most rewarding was to play in the Brandenburg First, which drew an enormous orchestra (including 10 cellos) and players of all ages who played with gusto under the forceful, thoroughly musical direction of Ellen Frye. Let us hope this becomes an annual event.
