Lebanon Opera House Names Assistant Director



Lebanon — Joe Gleason, of Weare, N.H., has joined the staff of Lebanon Opera House as assistant director.

Gleason moved to New Hampshire in 1974 and graduated from White Mountains Regional High School in 1978.

He attended Illinois State University in Normal, receiving a bachelor’s degree in theater. Returning to New Hampshire after college, he went on to work with the Palace Theatre in Manchester; Dana Center for the Humanities at Saint Anselm College, also in Manchester; Lowell (Mass.) Memorial Auditorium; and Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord.

Following several years as IT manager for a company in New Hampshire, Gleason returned to work in theater as executive director of the Clayton (N.Y.) Opera House.

He recently earned a master’s degree in arts administration from Goucher College in Baltimore, Md.

Gleason has served on the St. Lawrence Arts Council Grant Review Panel in New York and is a member of the board of trustees of the Capitol Center for the Arts in Concord.

His duties at the opera house will include volunteer and box office management, as well as assisting with marketing, development and programming of the Youth Education Series. — Staff report
