Police: Bethel Woman Was Driver in Hit-and-Run

White River Junction — A 22-year-old Bethel woman pleaded not guilty to a series of charges in connection with a hit-and-run accident that severely injured a South Royalton lawyer on June 23. On Monday, Allison Richards answered to felony counts of leaving the scene of a crash and gross negligent operation of a vehicle, as well as misdemeanor counts of providing false information to a police officer and retail theft. Windsor Superior Court Judge Robert P. Gerety released Richards on a $5,000 appearance bond. He also barred Richards from operating a vehicle, as well as several other conditions.
