Volunteer Sought for Visually Impaired Woman in Hartford

White River Junction — Representatives for the Vermont Association for the Blind and Visually impaired are searching for a volunteer to assist a visually impaired woman in the Hartford area.

The job entails picking the woman up, taking her out to do shopping, and returning her home on a weekly basis. During the actual shopping, she will need help identifying, finding and purchasing the items she needs.

“Volunteer shoppers are the key to keeping Vermonters affected by vision loss living independently,” said Vicki Vest, of VABVI, in a new release. “Volunteers play a critical role in providing (more than 10,000 visually impaired persons) with the services they need.”

VABVI volunteers receive mileage reimbursement for the use of their vehicles. Anyone interested in the position can call toll-free at 877-350-8838.
