Letter: VFW’s ‘Caring for Courtney’

To the Editor:

The VFW and its Men’s Auxiliary recently hosted a “Caring For Courtney” benefit to raise money 10-year-old Courtney Powers, a Vershire girl who has been diagnosed with cancer. The response was overwhelming and contributors too many to name.

On behalf of the VFW, Men’s Auxiliary and the Powers family, a heartfelt thank you to all. In the event that you were unable to attend and would still like to make a contribution, checks should be made payable to: Courtney Powers Fund, c/o Mascoma Savings Bank, P.O. Box 36, Lyme, N.H., 03768. Crystal Moses, Courtney’s aunt, would also like to bring attention to the urgent need for platelets and the number of children who go without due to the shortage. Thank you again.
