Quechee, Vt. — Helen Miglorie, formerly of Springfield, Vt., died peacefully Friday, July 12, 2013, at Mt. Ascutney Hospital in Windsor, Vt. She was 96 years old and reasonably healthy up to the time she passed.
Helen, known to many as “Honey”, a name given to her by her grandson when he was a toddler, is survived by her daughter Brenda and grandson, Cris Hetnik, both of Quechee. She has two brothers, Stanley Palowski, Sr. of Springfield, Vt. and Bill Palowski and wife, of Sebastian, Fla. There are many nieces and nephews spread throughout the country. Born to parents, Patricia and Adam Palowski, originally from Poland, the family settled in Springfield. Helen was the oldest of five children. Her husband of 68 years, Fred Miglorie, was deceased in 2007. A brother, Zygmunt Palowski of Moorehead, Minn. and a sister, Jean King of Dracut, Mass., also passed.
Honey was a multi-talented lady who always kept busy. For 40 years she owned and operated Helen’s Beauty Salon in her hometown. She was active in a bowling league and loved dancing. However, her passion was golfing. She was a member of Crown Point Country Club. Helen was as good a golfer as she was a dancer. Being a hobbyist, knitting and crewel was where she excelled. Many of her framed crewel artwork hangs in homes throughout New England.
There will be a private memorial service in the Fall. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mt. Ascutney Hospital, Hospice, 289 County Road, Windsor Vt. 05089.
She will be missed by all who knew her. We love you, Honey.
