Rosetta Mary Huether

Wilder, Vt. — Rosetta Mary Huether, 96, died Monday, April 21, 2014, at her home at Valley Terrace Assisted Living.

She was born in New York City, N.Y. on Jan. 9, 1918, a daughter of John and Mary (McKearney) Hill. She moved to Vermont in 2001.

She was graduated from Immaculate Conception Business School in New York City and was employed at Bonwit Teller, a woman’s apparel store on Fifth Avenue, NYC. Later in life she attended State University of New York at Farmingdale on Long Island.

Rosetta was married to Frank H. Huether for 60 years. He predeceased her in 2000. Frank Huether was employed as Director of Quality Assurance for Northrop Grumman Aerospace at Bethpage, N.Y. They raised their three children in Babylon, Long Island, N.Y. In 1978, they retired to New Smyrna Beach, Fla. and they were active members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Grumman Retiree Club.

Rosetta enjoyed traveling through the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe with her husband.

Survivors include her son, Ronald and his wife, Susan from Fredericksburg, Texas; two daughters: Gail Marino and her husband, Raymond from Babylon, N.Y. and Clare Forseth and her partner, Dave Sherman from White River Junction, Vt.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours. Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct., assisted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Bayada Hospice, 309 Main Street, Norwich VT 05055.
