Letter: A Vote for Hartford’s Future
To the Editor:
Monday evening, I attended Hartford’s budget presentation and candidates’ night. I moved to Hartford only 18 months ago, but have had the opportunity over the past several months to talk and work with Selectboard members. As such, I am particularly interested in the contest for the three-year seat between incumbent F. X. Flinn and Richard Grassi. During the candidates’ introductory remarks, Mr. Flinn spoke about his desire to develop a shared understanding for Hartford’s future. Mr. Grassi, on the other hand, spoke exclusively about the past, reciting his resume. Town residents will have a second opportunity to hear from and query the candidates at Saturday’s Community Day & Luncheon, to be held at the High School from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Based on what I heard last night, I intend to vote for Hartford’s future at Town Meeting on Tuesday, March 4.
