Mieczyslaw “Mike” Staszkiewicz
Claremont, N.H. — Mieczyslaw “Mike” Staszkiewicz, 92, of Dane Avenue in Claremont and formerly of Depot Street in Enfield, died Saturday morning, Nov. 2, 2013, at the Sullivan County Nursing Home in Unity.
He was born in Mala Myca, Poland on Dec. 24, 1920, the son of Wladyshaw and Konstancia Staszkiewicz.
Mieczyslaw was a tailor and had worked for Campion’s Clothing and Serry’s Clothing, both in Hanover.
He loved gardening, politics and especially his grandchildren.
He is the widow of Genowefa Staszkiewicz, whom he married on June 16, 1946, and she died on Sept. 5, 2006.
The family includes four sons, Longin and his wife Nancy of Sunapee, N.H., Tadeusz R. and his wife Grazyna of Claremont, Krzysztof C. of Manchester, N.H., and Andrzej N. and his wife Patty of Goffstown, N.H.; four grandchildren, Wojtek, Katarzyna, Adam and Caitlin; one brother-in-law, Longin Ambros and his wife, Melissa of Hartland, Vt.; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont on Wednesday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 11 a.m., in St. Joseph Church, Claremont with Rev. Father George Majka, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in Hartland Cemetery in Hartland, Vt.
