Arthur James Dupont
Port Orange, Fla. — Arthur James (AJ) Dupont, 25, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Port Orange on Monday, Aug. 11, 2014. AJ was born in Hanover, N.H. on March 1, 1989, son of James and Mary (Durgin) Dupont. He lived in Fairlee, Vt. until 2005 when the family moved to Florida.
AJ attended Rivendell Academy then graduated from ATC and attended Daytona State College. He worked in various jobs in the Culinary field and was passionate about cooking (and eating!) He had recently purchased a food cart and was gearing up to start his own business.
AJ was very tuned in to his Celtic roots and took himself on a memorable trip to Ireland in 2010. AJ will especially be remembered for his warm and generous nature; he was always willing to help a friend in need.
AJ is survived by his parents of Port Orange; his son, Elliot James Dupont; former wife, Meghan McGowan of Brattleboro, Vt.; sister, Savannah Hansen of Port Orange; grandmother, Rosemary Durgin of Woodstock Vt., aunts, Anne (Durgin) Dall of Lyme, N.H. and Helen Durgin of Plains, Mont., uncles, Peter Durgin of Chester, Vt. and John Durgin of Fairlee, Vt., uncle, Art of Ormond Beach, Fla., uncle, Raymond Dupont of N.Y.; and a number of cousins.
A celebration of AJ’s life will be held after a graveside service in the fall in his hometown of Fairlee. Online condolences may be directed to www.legacy.com.
