Richard “Dick” Ross Howard

Lebanon, N.H. — Richard “Dick” Ross Howard, 82, passed away at Genesis Healthcare in Lebanon on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, after a long illness.

Richard was born in West Thornton, N.H., on Dec, 11, 1929, a son of Hollis and Hattie (Connor) Howard. He worked for MacMillen Construction Co. of Keene, N.H., as a carpenter and Trumbull Nelson Construction Co. of Hanover, N.H., as a site superintendent for a number of years. Richard lived Enfield, N.H., where he built his home and had a garden which he enjoyed sharing with others.

He was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Alice Dion Howard; and his stepdaughter, Marion Jette.

Richard is survived by his wife, Margaret S. Howard, of Lebanon; a daughter, Patricia Howard, of Deland, Fla.; a son, Hollis Howard, of Nelson, N.H.; a granddaughter, Leslie Minns, of Gilson, N.H.; grandsons Shawn and his wife, Heather, and Joshua, of the Keene area; and his daughter-in-law, Judy Howard, of Keene.

At Richard’s request there will be no services. Burial will be at a later date in Thornton, N.H. Ricker Funeral Home & Crematory in Lebanon assisted the family with arrangements.
