Leon F. Lemieux, Sr.
Cornish, N.H. — Leon F. Lemieux, Sr., 68, of Town House Road in Cornish died Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Mount Ascutney Hospital in Windsor following a sudden illness. He was born in Claremont, N.H. on May 28, 1945, the son of Louis, Sr. and Gertrude (Donovan) Lemieux and had been a lifetime area resident.
Leon had been employed as a mechanic by Dartmouth Motors as well as Dean Hill Motors for many years. He later worked in the maintenance department at Optimum Machine Company.
Leon enjoyed hunting, fly fishing and tying flies. He was a member of the Claremont Elks Lodge #879 for more than 35 years.
Members of his family include, his longtime companion, Cheryl Chase, Cornish; two sons, Leon F. Lemieux, Jr. and his wife, Allison, Claremont, Todd Lemieux, Claremont; a daughter, Tammy Bergeron and her husband, Mark, Cornish; a stepson, Jason Ranney and his wife, Tammy, Sarasota, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Nicki Connelly and her husband, Todd, Weathersfield, Vt.; nine grandchildren, Melissa, Ashley, Todd, Alexis, Jordan, Ciara, Drew, Max and Jake; a great grandson, Owen; two sisters, Lucille Richards, Claremont, Karen Howard and her husband, Rick, Unity, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Louis Lemiux, Jr., and a sister, Lois Barton.
Friends may call at the Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan Street, Claremont on Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. where members of the Claremont Elks Lodge#879 will conduct services at 7 p.m.
Graveside committal services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in St. Mary’s Cemetery with Rev. Shawn M. Therrien, pastor of St. Mary Parish, officiating.
