Wayne Martin, Sr.

Claremont, N.H. — Wayne Martin, Sr., 63, of Claremont, died on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at his home following a period of failing health. He was born on Nov. 22, 1949, in Barre, Vt., the son of George and Olga (Molinari) Martin.

Wayne was employed as an inspector for Design Standards and recently retired. He enjoyed woodworking and was experienced in building construction. He was very proud of the fact that he had rebuilt his home, and added his garage. He enjoyed cooking and was known for his chili and sausage soup. He also enjoyed Sudoku and reading novels and was a fan of the Red Sox and New England Patriots.

He was predeceased by his wife, Patricia (Simoneau) Martin, a son, Michael Martin, and seven brothers, Joseph Martin, Eugene Martin, Richard Martin, Victor Martin, Steven Martin, Warren Martin, and George Martin Jr.. Members of his surviving family include a son, Wayne Martin, Jr. of Claremont; and two brothers, Raymond Martin of Washington, Vt., and Darrell Martin of Graniteville, Vt. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Kerri Martin, and Kaitlyn Martin; and two great-grandchildren, Dillon Dearborn and Kiera-Marie Dearborn.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at the Roy Funeral Home, 93 Sullivan Street, Claremont, with the Rev. Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor of St. Mary’s Parish, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Claremont. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
