Mobile Veterans Affairs Center Headed to Claremont Wednesday

Claremont — The Mobile Vet Center will host a welcome home event for veterans, active service members and immediate family members on Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at the Wal-Mart Supercenter on Bowen Street.

The 29-foot motor coach, which contains space for confidential counseling, carries Vet Center counselors and outreach workers to provide non-medical readjustment counseling, addressing social and economic post-war needs.

The service includes help with the application process for federal benefits, counseling for traumatic military-related experiences and family counseling when needed for the veteran’s readjustment.

A representative from the White River Junction VA will be on hand to answer questions and assist with the application process. The region’s VetCorps prevention coordinator will help connect veterans with services they may require outside of the VA.

For more information, contact Shannon Carney at vetcorps@sullivancountynh.gov or call 603-477-7830.
