Open House Marks 1st Anniversary For Claremont Community Center
Claremont — Claremont Parks and Recreation Department will celebrate Claremont Savings Bank Community Center’s first birthday with a hands-on open house.
“This is a perfect opportunity for the Recreation Department to showcase the facility and some of the programs we offer,” Mark Brislin, recreation director, said in a recent news release.
The free event, Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., will include mini fitness classes and tours of the facility.
The community center, which opened March 2, 2013, has more than 5,000 members. It is home to a 25-yard indoor pool and separate lesson pool; a fitness facility, elevated track, aerobics room and basketball courts; locker rooms, multi-function rooms, a conference room and a kitchen.

The classes will be taught at 20-minute intervals. The schedule follows:
TRX training and demo, 9-10 a.m.; butterfly stroke clinic, 9:15-9:45 a.m.; aqua fit/aqua Zumba, 9:30-10:30 a.m.; spinning, 9:30-11:30 a.m.; back stroke clinic, 9:55-10:25 a.m.; breast stroke clinic, 10:35-11:05 a.m.; Zumba, 11 a.m.-noon; freestyle stroke clinic, 11:15-11:45 a.m.; flip turn clinic, 11:55 a.m.-12:25 p.m.; pickle ball, 12:15-1:15 p.m.; open turn clinic, 12:35-1:05 p.m.; boot camp, 1-2 p.m.; triathlon swim technique, 1:15-1:45 p.m.; kayaking roll clinic, 1:15-2 p.m.
