Simon James Walters

Chelsea, Vt. — Simon James Walters, 25, died on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph, Vt. from injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Tunbridge, Vt.

He was born on Oct. 29, 1987, in Morrisville, Vt., the son of Andrew M. and Penelope J. (Coburn) Walters. He attended school in Brattleboro, Vt. and graduated from the Austine School For The Deaf in 2006. He worked at Sanford’s Dairy Farm in Chelsea and Chappelle’s Potatoes in Williamstown, Vt. before working the last two years at Progressive Plastic in Williamstown.

Simon enjoyed riding snowmobiles, motorcycles and four-wheelers. He liked going to mud bog rallys, working on cars, shooting guns, playing with his nieces and nephews and playing video games.

He is survived by his mother, Penelope and his step-father, Jeffrey Roux, of West Topsham, Vt.; his father, Andrew M. Walters, of Chelsea; a brother, Steven Walters, of Tunbridge; two sisters, Renada Walters, of Orange, Vt. and Brittany Walters, of Barre, Vt.; his grandparents, Donald and Marion Coburn of Chelsea; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Andrew and Elsma Walters.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 14, 2013, at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Boardway & Cilley Funeral Home, 300 VT RT 110, Chelsea. A graveside memorial service will be held on Monday, July 15, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the West Hill Cemetery in Chelsea.
