Marjorie E. Eastman
Canaan, N.H. — Marjorie E. Eastman of Canaan died peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 18, 2013, with her granddaughters by her side.
She was born Sept. 30, 1919, in Canaan. She was a daughter of Edwin and Elizabeth (King) Pierce. She attended local schools and lived in the Upper Valley her entire life.
On March 5, 1937, she was married to Clarence Eastman and they made their home in Canaan. Mrs. Eastman was employed by The Mascoma School District for 34 years in the school lunch program. She enjoyed her home and her family.
She was predeceased by her husband in August 1983; a son, Robert in April 1997; two sisters, Viva Green and Edith Smith; two brothers, Myrl Pierce and Freeman Pierce.
She is survived by three granddaughters and their husbands, Bobbi and Dale Barney, of Canaan, Diane and Kenneth Clark, Sr., of Grafton, and Paige and Edmund Dauphinais, of Enfield; seven great grandchildren, Chauncie Raymond, Justin Barney, Jillian Dyer, Jordan Barney, Jocelyn Barney, Nicholas Dauphinais, Lucas Dauphinais; and three great, great grandchildren, Nathan Eastman, Christian Naugler and Abbey Barney; and nieces and nephews and cousins.
She was affiliated with the Canaan United Methodist Church and was a member of the United Methodist Women’s Group for 75 years - since she was 18.
At her request there will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at the Canaan United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. with burial following in the Wells Cemetery in Canaan.
