Letter: Threatening Our Way of Life

To the Editor:

Page A1 of the Aug. 5 Valley News reported on a power outage in Woodstock and neighboring towns. You reported that a squirrel “sabotaged” a substation.

So squirrels are terrorists? If I spot a squirrel in the vicinity of a Green Mountain Power facility, should I contact Homeland Security?

Woodstock — Nearly 4,000 Green Mountain Power customers in Woodstock and some neighboring towns lost power for about six hours yesterday, after a squirrel sabotaged a substation, a Green Mountain Power spokesman said.
