N.H. Man Charged in Toddler’s Death
Somersworth, N.H. (ap) — A New Hampshire man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 2-year-old child. Authorities said 30-year-old Jared Pope, of Somersworth, has been charged with manslaughter in the death of Noah York.
Police and emergency personnel were called on Friday evening to a Somersworth apartment, where they found child in distress. Police said the child was pronounced dead at the hospital. An autopsy conducted yesterday determined that the cause of death was smothering. Pope is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow.
