Letter: Different Priorities for Marijuana
To the Editor:
Recently, I wrote to advocate the legalization of all drugs, but particularly marijuana, as the only fair and humane way to deal with one of society’s great ills. So, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the New Hampshire House is set to vote next month on legalizing the possession (and, I hope, the production and sale) of one ounce of marijuana.
I noticed state Rep. Steve Vaillancourt was supporting the bill, “by legalizing, regulating and taxing” it.
In my letter supporting legalization, I used the words “legislate, regulate and educate.”
Isn’t it funny how politicians, even good ones such as Vaillencourt, have different priorities than average citizens?
