Hartford Officer Injured in Incident
Hartford — A 27-year-old Hartford man was due in court on a charge of aggravated assault on a police officer and resisting arrest after an incident early Friday on Route 5 that injured a police officer, authorities said.
Police said they responded to 1780 Hartford Ave. in Wilder at 4:30 a.m. for a report that Ryan Murphy was trying to force his way into a residence, according to a Hartford police news release.
Murphy resisted arrest and injured an unidentified officer, police said. The officer suffered a concussion and cervical strain and was taken to a hospital, but later released, according to Deputy Chief of Police Brad Vail.
Murphy was held on $2,500 cash bail pending arraignment Friday afternoon, the release said. Results of the arraignment, which also included a charge of disorderly conduct, were not immediately available last night.
