Three Arrested on Burglary Charges in Newport
Newport — Police arrested three people in Sunapee early yesterday morning on charges related to a burglary at Radio Shack.
Alex Call, 18, of Bedford, N.H., and Elyszabeth Michalski, 21, and Robert Cennami, 29, both of Manchester, N.H., were taken into custody after their vehicle was stopped around 2 a.m.
The incident began just past 1:30 a.m. with a report of an alarm at Radio Shack on Sunapee Street in Newport.
According to police, State Trooper Brandon Dean was in the area and saw a vehicle leave from an adjacent parking lot that he subsequently pulled over just over the Sunapee line. Visible inside the vehicle were several pieces of electronics, police said.
Two Newport officers, Michael Nelson and Corporal Charles McLeman, investigated at the store and determined forced entry had been gained and items were removed.
Call and Cennami, who were passengers in the vehicle, were charged with burglary and Michalski was charged with criminal liability and conduct of another, for her role, police said. They were arraigned in court yesterday.
