Noel Joseph Vincent
White River Jct., Vt. — Noel Joseph Vincent, 90, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in White River Jct., Vt.
He was born Dec. 25, 1922, in Canaan, N.H. the third of fifteen children born to Albondius P. and Adrienne (LaPorte) Vincent. Noel grew up in Hartford Village before serving in Hawaii with the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He worked at Goodyear in Windsor, Vt. and later operated a gas station in Hartford Village before starting Noel Vincent Trucking. As a trash removal company, Noel was proud to be the first service in the Upper Valley to offer recycling.
Noel was always eager to help others and was very active in his community. As a member of St. Anthony’s Church in White River Jct., he was also a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Michaud Council. He was also a life member of the Hartford B.P.O.Elks Lodge 1541 as well as the American Legion Post 26 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2571 both in White River Jct.
He was predeceased by his sons Peter Vincent and Alfred Barrows a great-granddaughter Faith Monmaney, as well as siblings Peter, Sister Juliette and Francis Vincent and Eulalia “Susie” Wilcox.
He leaves his wife of 44 years, Eva (Barrows) Vincent of White River Jct., a son Thomas R. Vincent of Hartland, VT and Nancy Kendall of White River Jct.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; siblings Mary Davis, Paul Vincent, Laurette Woodward, Lucille Follensbee, Daniel Vincent, Sister Alice Vincent CSJ, Robert Vincent, Andrew “Albert” Vincent, John Vincent and Lawrence Vincent as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the Knight Funeral Home in White River Jct. on Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at 12 p.m. at St. Anthony’s Church with burial following in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery both in White River Jct.
