Arthritis Walk Set in Lebanon
Lebanon — The Arthritis Foundation and Alice Peck Day Health Systems will host the 2014 Upper Valley Walk to Cure Arthritis on Sept. 20.
The walk is designed to raise money for arthritis research and increase awareness about the disease. Arthritis affects more than 50 million Americans, of which two-thirds are under age 65, including 300,000 children.
The event will take place on APD’s campus, which includes more than four miles of trails. It will feature family activities and information about arthritis. Dogs are welcome.
Registration opens at 9 a.m., followed by the walk at 10 a.m. For more information, or to register, go to www.arthritiswalk.org.
Lake Sunapee Region VNA Official Is Honored
New London — Monique Malanga, chief financial officer at Lake Sunapee Region VNA & Hospice in New London, recently received the 2014 Home Care Service award from the Home Care Association of New Hampshire.
The award is presented to someone in the home care field who has made a significant contribution to home care through education, research, advocacy or leadership.
Malanga, the home care association’s outgoing treasurer, has “worked tirelessly through her term to ensure a successful future for the association,” the home care association said in a recent news release.
“She has worked to build an organization that is financially solid and has also served on the CEO search committee to assure that the appropriate processes were in place to enhance the committee’s effectiveness and create a smooth transition.”
The association’s membership includes nonprofit and proprietary agencies that provide services for New Hampshire residents who are recovering from surgery, injury or illness, or have chronic or terminal illnesses or other conditions requiring support at home.
