Fischer Nets 100th Point, Big Green Sweeps Bears

Orono, Maine — Senior Reagan Fischer joined the career 100-point club with a late assist, and senior Sasha Nanji scored her second goal of the game with 3:07 to play to snap a 2-2 tie as the Dartmouth women’s hockey team earned a 4-2 win over Maine yesterday to record a weekend sweep of the Black Bears at Alfond Arena.

Dartmouth (6-4-2 overall) goes into its winter break on a two-game winning streak. The Big Green have never lost in 11 meetings with Maine (2-12-1).

After Nanji put Dartmouth ahead to stay, Fischer set up classmate Jenna Hobeika for an insurance strike with less than two minutes left in the game. The assist was Fischer’s 100th career point, making her the 35th player in the history of Dartmouth women’s hockey to reach that milestone.

Senior Camille Dumais capped a big weekend with a goal and two assists for the Big Green, completing a seven-point weekend in the two-game sweep. Her hat trick in Saturday’s 6-1 win gave her 50 goals for her career.

The Big Green is off until a Dec. 31 trip to Providence.
