Letter: Why All the Secrecy?
To the Editor:
Regarding the closing of Upper Valley Lanes and Games (“Thetford Man Wants to Buy, Reopen Hartford Bowling Alley,” Aug. 17), I bowled in leagues there last fall. Several friends and family members were bowling in summer leagues. Upper Valley Lanes and Games served as a place for safe, fun-filled, family entertainment for many years.
While I am not sorry to see the strip club go, I am sorry the bowling alley closed the way it did. The owners, or former owners, of the lanes have been a part of the community for a long time. They made a lot of friends here. I am surprised by all the secrecy surrounding this. Why keep important information from the very people who have spent hundreds of dollars there? Did Upper Valley Lanes and Games’ loyal customers and friends mean so little to them that they don’t feel the community deserves to hear the truth?
