Letter: The Key to Job Creation
To the Editor:
The business analysis piece by Washington Post writer J.D. Harrison (“Who Actually Creates Jobs?” Sunday Valley News, April 28) brought up some important facts and talking points concerning job creation among our nation’s different business sectors.
Though the article touched on the most important part of the solution to this economic pickle, it was not emphasized. Regardless of the business type or size, it is demand that creates jobs. Putting more money into the hands of the middle class will create that demand. Putting more of it into the pockets of the 1 or 2 percent will not.
Adjusted for inflation, median income has and will continue to decline. That is unless Washington wakes up and starts working together. Earth to Washington: We have a problem here.
