Senior Scientist Recognized At CRREL
Hanover — Devinder Sodhi, of Hanover, was inducted into American Society of Mechanical Engineers Fellowship at a Jan. 25 ceremony at the U.S. Army’s Engineer Research and Development Center, Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory. John Dempsey, American Society of Mechanical Engineers Fellow, and Bert Davis, ERDC-CRREL director, presided over the ceremony.
Sodhi, an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education visiting senior scientist at CRREL, was recognized for a body of work that includes contributions in the field of ice mechanics, such as ice forces on structures and ‘breakthrough loads’ of floating ice sheets. Sodhi retired from CRREL as a senior research scientist following 23 years of service. Matt Rolland, vice chairman of the Upper Valley Subsection, also represented ASME, which claims more than 120,000 members in more than 150 countries.
