CCV to Offer Free Business Classes

White River Junction — Community College of Vermont’s Upper Valley academic center will offer free business courses during the spring semester.

Introduction to Internet Marketing and Working in a Professional Environment, both three-credit courses, are open to anyone seeking to gain new skills or advance existing skills. Area businesses may also contract with CCV for a free college level supervision course for their employees.

The classes are part of the Applied Business Practices and Digital Marketing programs, which prepare students to work in the “rapidly evolving business settings of the 21st century,” the college said in a recent news release. They include current practices in change management, systems thinking, project management and financial literacy. Credits earned for successfully completing the classes can be used toward an associate degree in numerous CCV programs and may be transferrable to other accredited schools.

The classes are funded through a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training initiative.

Registration is now under way for the spring term, which begins Jan. 21. For more information, go to call the Upper Valley academic center at 802-295-8822. — Staff report
