White River Junction — The VA Medical Center in White River Junction will host an open house on Monday, Women’s Equity Day, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Research Building (building 44), at 163 Veterans Drive.
The free event, part of a monthly series, will feature a speaker, help for those applying for VA health care benefits, and infant car seat inspections.
Dr. Lynn L. Webster, who practices internal medicine at the center, will speak at 10 a.m.
A specialist in women’s health and chronic disease management, Webster will discuss women’s equality in VA health care.
Information about VA compensation benefits and health care services will be available for veterans and their families, and medical center staff will be on hand to help veterans complete VA health care applications.
Those interested in applying for VA health care should bring a copy of their discharge paperwork (Form DD 214), a photo ID and financial information from the previous calendar year.
Veterans may complete the application during the event or expedite the process by bringing a completed form with them. The health benefits application (VA Form 10-10EZ) is available at www.whiteriver.va.gov under “Become a Patient.”
Veterans are encouraged to apply for health care with the VA Health Care System. Those who served in the Armed Forces and received an honorable discharge may qualify for health care benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
