Police: Man Robbed Windsor Rite Aid at Gunpoint
Windsor — Police are searching for a man who used a handgun to rob the Rite Aid drugstore in Windsor Wednesday evening.
A man wearing a hooded top and armed with a handgun stole an unidentified number of drugs from the Main Street pharmacy, according to Windsor Police Chief Stephen Soares.
Windsor and Vermont State Police responded to the armed robbery call around 7:40 p.m. and were told by store employees that the robber fled out the back door and ran down an alley behind the store.
A Vermont State Police canine unit began tracking the suspect, Soares said, but lost his scent.
Police are hoping to use video footage from the Rite Aid in order to aid the investigation, Soares said. Witnesses said the suspect was a young white male, about 5-foot-10 inches to 6 feet tall.
Anyone with information about the incident are asked to call Windsor police at 802-674-9042.
