Police: Woman Charged With Leaving Infant in Car Pleads Not Guilty
Lebanon — A Barnard grandmother pleaded not guilty yesterday to a charge of endangering her 3-month-old grandson for allegedly leaving him in a car in a West Lebanon parking lot in April.
Patricia Dice, 63, is scheduled for an August trial on the misdemeanor charge, which carries a one-year maximum sentence.
In court papers, Dice said she has custody of the boy. It is not clear from court papers where the child currently lives. Lebanon Police Lt. Matt Isham could not be reached for comment late yesterday.
Police say that Dice left the boy for 20 minutes alone in her car while she shopped in the All Around Towne photography store on Route 12A.
Dice previously told the Valley News that she had become distracted while shopping.
Dice had previously been identified by authorities as a Randolph resident, but in court papers her address is listed in Barnard.
