Judge: Probable Cause Found Against Cornish Man in Fatal Crash

Merrimack, n.h. — Prosecutors can now present to a grand jury the case of a dump truck driver accused of running a red light and causing a fatal collision.

A judge on Monday found probable cause against 43-year-old Kyle Witty, of Cornish. He’s free on $50,000 personal recognizance bail.

Witty was charged with manslaughter following the July 16 crash at the intersection of Route 101A and Continental Boulevard in Merrimack that killed 60-year-old Nashua resident Elizabeth McQuinn.

County attorneys say Witty ran a red light in a dump truck carrying a load of stone and collided with the driver’s side of McQuinn’s SUV. She was trying to turn left from a McDonald’s parking lot onto Route 101A.

McQuinn was pronounced dead at the scene.

Motorcycle Accident in Quechee Leaves 2 Mass. Residents Injured

Quechee — Two Massachusetts residents, a man and a woman, were transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center Tuesday afternoon after crashing their motorcycle near the southbound Interstate 89 exit across from the Quechee Mobil Mart.

The incident occurred just before 2 p.m., Hartford police officer Thomas Lyman said on Tuesday. The police don’t know the names or the status of the bikers, who rode a black 2013 Harley-Davidson, though their injuries didn’t appear to Lyman to be serious.

Officials at DHMC could not comment on the status of the patients without a name.

The motorcycle was registered to a man from North Andover, Mass., Deputy Police Chief Brad Vail said on Tuesday.

The victims had swerved to avoid a woman in a Honda minivan, also from Massachusetts, who was exiting the I-89 ramp. She appeared not to have been at fault in the accident, based on witness evidence and security footage from the Mobil station, Lyman said.
