Claremont Fundraiser Supports River Valley Massage Program
Claremont — A fundraiser in Claremont this month will support a new massage therapy program for hospital patients.
Massage therapy students at River Valley Community College are offering 50-minute full body massages to raise money for the program, which will provide massage therapy to inpatients and chemotherapy patients at Valley Regional Hospital.
The program, a collaboration between the hospital and college, is scheduled to launch in September.
“We know that being in the hospital is often difficult physically and emotionally,” Laura Hagley, Valley Regional Hospital’s rehabilitation manager, said in a recent news release. “We want to do everything possible to ensure the comfort of our patients.”
The massages, which cost $20, will be offered on June 9, 11, 12, 18 and 19, between 3 and 8 p.m., at the college.
The proceeds will support a scholarship fund used to cover the cost of massages for patients who would otherwise be unable to afford them.
To schedule a massage, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 603-542-7744, ext. 5511.
