Ausbon Sargent Protects 129th Property
New London — The Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust recently closed on its 129th protected property.
Judith and Thomas Brewer placed a conservation easement on 159.2 acres of their 200-acre property in Danbury, N.H. The property includes two-thirds of Severence Hill and more than a half mile of shore frontage on Waukeena Lake. The protected land includes important wildlife habitat for loons on the lake and for moose, the nonprofit said in a recent news release.
“Tom and Judith are dedicated to this land and love sharing it with their invited guests,” Beth McGuinn, a land protection specialist with Ausbon Sargent, said in the release. Although there are no formal trails at this time, the property will never be posted against public access.
Ausbon Sargent works to help preserve the rural landscape of the 12 towns it serves in the Mount Kearsarge-Lake Sunapee region. Including the Brewer property, it protects 10,685 acres the region.
