Dartmouth Hires New VP for Campus Planning and Facilities

Hanover — Dartmouth College has hired a Colby Sawyer College graduate and former Harvard University official to help manage Dartmouth’s facilities and land holdings.

Dartmouth announced Tuesday that Lisa Hogarty would be its vice president for campus planning and facilities.

She previously managed Harvard’s real estate holdings as vice president of campus services.

She will arrive in Hanover at the end of March and report directly to Dartmouth’s executive vice president and chief financial officer Rick Mills.

“We are thrilled to have Lisa join our team,” Mills said in a news release. “She is an accomplished executive who has a demonstrated ability to manage the full spectrum of operations and facilities to ensure that faculty, students, staff and administrators have the environment they need to perform at the highest level.”

In her new role, Hogarty will be responsible for stewarding Dartmouth’s physical facilities and land, which includes 6.5 million square feet of building space and 35,000 acres of land across the state. Hogarty will oversee development and management of the college’s capital program, facilities planning, engineering design, parking, labor relations, sustainability leadership and management of the Hanover Inn.

Hogarty oversaw facilities operations, planning, design and construction for Harvard’s real estate portfolio. In addition to working in higher education, Hogarty has worked in health care operations, hospitality administration and events management.

“I am honored to be joining the leadership team at Dartmouth at such an exciting time for the institution,” Hogarty said. “I look forward to working with colleagues in campus planning and facilities who have such a great track record of ensuring the quality of the campus environment for the faculty, students and broader Dartmouth and Hanover communities.”

After graduating from Colby-Sawyer College in 1981 with a bachelor’s of fine arts, Hogarty worked as a stage manager for a number of Broadway shows, including Whoopi Goldberg on Broadway and Brighton Beach Memoirs. Hogarty also holds a master’s degree in hospitality and tourism from New York University.

Hogarty left Harvard in mid-November and worked briefly for a Connecticut investment company before accepting the job at Dartmouth.

She and her wife, Rosemary Keane, will live in North Sutton, N.H., where they own a house.
