Local roundup: Rupp’s big night leads Windsor girls basketball over Hartford

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — The Windsor High girls basketball team defeated Hartford, 62-42, on Monday at Hanley Gymnasium. 

Audrey Rupp scored 26 points and added nine steals and three assists for the Yellowjackets (9-2), who also received 17 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks from Sydney Perry and 12 points and six rebounds from Sophia Rockwood.

Hartford was led by freshman Charlotte Jasmin, who had 17 points for the Hurricanes (5-4). Madison Willey added eight points for the hosts.

Hartford hosts Woodstock (3-6) on Wednesday. Windsor entertains Lake Region (6-3) on Saturday.

BOYS BASKETBALLOtter Valley 73, Windsor 67 (OT)

BRANDON, Vt. — The Otters scored 12 of the extra session’s 18 points, dropping the Yellowjackets to 3-6.

Maison Fortin led the visitors with 26 points, and Corey Lockwood added 19 points. Conor Denis had 15 points for Otter Valley (3-5).

Windsor, which has lost four consecutive games, visits Hartford (6-1) on Friday.
