Essex Junction, Vt. — Dylan Spencer and Jordy Allard provided short and important relief stints on the mound as White River Junction Post 84 (5-2) completed a 3-1 run through Essex Post 91’s Punch Out Cancer Tournament.

Spencer threw 2⅓ innings after taking over for starting pitcher Owen Tarleton. Brady Clark, Post 84’s third pitcher of the day, earned the win, while Allard tossed the final two frames for the save. Allard also went 2-for-4 at the plate with four RBIs as White River Junction capitalized on walks and hit batsmen to make up for only four hits as a team.

“We hit the ball hard a few times, had some walks and HBPs,” coach Jarrod Grassi explained. “I have to give the guys credit. They didn’t chase a lot of stuff.”

Post 84 returns to Vermont league play with the first of two games in two days at Ludlow Post 36 on Tuesday night.
