Volunteers Sought for N.H. Wildlife Program

Concord (ap) — The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department is looking for some volunteers to talk to youngsters about its wildlife programs.

The volunteers would be addressing students in grades three through six about endangered species, aquatic ecology and wetlands, and other subjects.

They would be part of the Wonders of Wildlife Program.

Teachers request specific programs for their classes and volunteers travel to the school to present the program.

The program is also requested by scout troops, 4-H and other organized youth groups.

The volunteers also assist with Fish and Game Department events such as Discover Wild New Hampshire Day, and they may be called upon to lead activities at environmentally based field days around the state.

Those completing the training are expected to contribute at least 48 volunteer hours for two years to the education of youths and adults.

Applications must be received by May 28. Training starts June 3.
