Bicycle Rides and Barbecue Will Support Zack’s House
Barnard — The second annual Tour De Zack on June 23 will feature live music, barbecue and bicycling. The event supports Zack’s Place, a nonprofit enrichment center for people with special needs.
Cyclists can choose from two supported rides. Both begin and end at Silver Lake in Barnard. The 45-mile ride travels through Bethel and Royalton along the White River. The 21-mile course crosses Woodstock and Pomfret. The rides converge in Quechee.
The event, which starts at 1 p.m., features live music by Automatic Rooster and dinner at 5 p.m. at the Barnard Inn Restaurant. The menu includes roasted, maple-smoked pig, seasonal mixed greens, Bavarian potato salad, tabouli, and strawberry shortcake. The cost is $100 for the ride and dinner, or $75 for dinner alone. — Staff report
