Wedding: Wood — Gardner

Wilder — Emily Wood and Benjamin Gardner were married on July 20, 2013.

The wedding took place at the Quechee Club and was presided over by Justice of the Peace Donald Weisburger. The bride was escorted by her father. She wore a custom made ivory dress with a chapel length lace train. The fitted gown had a sweetheart neckline with an off-the-shoulder beaded lace overlay and half sleeves. It was paired with a simple custom made cathedral length ivory veil. She wore a family heirloom rose gold necklace worn by her mother on her wedding day.

The bride carried a short cascading bouquet of ivy and ivory flowers, including hydrangea, cymbidium orchids, calla lilies, garden roses and freesia.

Julie Galuska was the maid of honor. Aimee Gunnarson was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Erin Quandt, Kelin Welborn and Jessica Barth. Flower girls were Grace Gardner, Gabriella Gardner, Hope St. John, Emily Gunnarson and Willow Wood.

Jason Gardner was the best man. Groomsmen were Mitchell Cable, Michael Hathorn, Roy Hathorn and Fredo Guarino. The ring bearer was Joseph Gardner.

A reception followed at the Quechee Club.

The bride is the daughter of Sheryl and Clayton Wood, of Sharon. She graduated from Hartford High School in 2000 and earned a bachelor’s degree in acting at the University of Connecticut in 2004. She is employed as an events coordinator at Vital Communities in White River Junction.

The bridegroom is the son of Mary and Carlisle Gardner, of Wilder. He graduated from Hartford High School in 1998 and earned a bachelor’s degree in literature from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla., in 2002. He received a master’s degree in education from Plymouth State University in 2006 and is employed as a teacher and coordinator in the English Department at Hartford High School, where he is also the assistant varsity football coach.

The couple make their home in Wilder.
