Wedding: Miller — King

White River Junction — Hannah Simon Miller and Willis Leonard King were married on Oct. 5, 2013.

The wedding took place at Jericho Hill Farm in White River Junction and was presided over by Alex Miller, the bride’s brother.

The bride was escorted by her father. Madison King, the bridegroom’s 11-year-old daughter, was a junior bridesmaid. Luke Reilly was the ring bearer.

The bride carried one of her grandmother’s handkerchiefs and her bouquet included the same ivy that her mother had carried in her own bridal bouquet in 1979. Her mother has kept the ivy growing for more than 30 years.

As part of the ceremony, the couple tied two pieces of rope together with a fisherman’s knot. This was done to signify their two lives coming together as one, since the more pressure that is placed on the knot, the tighter the bond becomes. Michael Reilly was the knot bearer.

A reception followed at Jericho Hill Farm, where guests enjoyed a pig roast, pie and dancing.

The bride is the daughter of Linda Simon Miller and George Raymond Miller, of White River Junction. She graduated from Hartford High School in 2001 and earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education from Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I., in 2005. She holds a master’s degree in special education from American International College in Springfield, Mass., and is employed as a special education teacher at Truro Central School in Truro, Mass.

The bridegroom is the son of the late Mary Read, his adoptive mother, and the late Billy King. He graduated from South Shore Vocational Technical High School in Hanover, Mass., in 1992 and is employed as a fisherman at Second Effort Fisheries in Provincetown, Mass.

The couple make their home in Truro.
