Wedding: Carpenter — Williams
Claremont — Sarah Elizabeth Carpenter and Dorrington Earl Williams were married on Oct. 5, 2013.
The wedding and reception took place at Lake Keowee, S.C.
The ceremony was held under a lakeside gazebo and was presided over by Jessica Link, a notary public. The bride was escorted by her father. Alana Concetta Carpenter was the maid of honor. Michael Lloyd Miller Jr. was the best man.
Friends and family from New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama attended the event. The reception included local barbecue and a selection of cakes for dessert. Guests played lawn games and enjoyed the lake, and the night was capped off with a bonfire on the beach.
The bride is the daughter of Renee Maynes, of Seneca, S.C., and Thomas Lawrence Carpenter, of Claremont. She graduated from Stevens High School in 2003 and earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology at Clemson University in Clemson, S.C. She is employed as a medical technologist at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville, S.C. The bridegroom is the son of Nina Bell, of Tocoa, Ga., and Fred Williams, of Wrightsville, Pa. He graduated from Plainview High School in Rainsville, Ala., in 1991 and earned a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y., in 2004. He is employed as a senior engineer at Duke Energy in Seneca.
The couple plan to honeymoon in Cancun in March. They make their home in Clemson.
