Wedding: Daly — Hobbs
Piermont — Rachel Gaia Daly and Kevin M. Hobbs were married on June 15, 2013.
The wedding took place at Inn at Paradise in Albuquerque, N.M. The bride wore jewelry handcrafted by her mother and was given away in marriage by her father. Anne D. Izard, a minister with Universal Life Church, presided over the ceremony. Kathryn Blanchflower was the matron of honor. Leighton Reid was best man.
A reception followed at the inn.
The bride is the daughter of Stephanie B. Gordon and Steven F. Daly, both of Piermont. She graduated from Hanover High School in 2004 and earned a bachelor’s degree in geology from Colby College in Waterville, Maine. She received a master’s degree in geology from the University of Idaho in 2010 and is employed as a geologist at Chicago Bridge and Iron Co. in Albuquerque.
The bridegroom is the son of Wanda and Greg Hobbs, of Odenville, Ala. He graduated from Clay-Chalkville High School in Clay, Ala. in 2002 and earned a bachelor’s degree in geology from The University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn. in 2006. He received a master’s degree in geology the University of Idaho in 2010 and is pursuing a doctoral degree in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the University of New Mexico.
The couple plan to spend their honeymoon backpacking in southwestern Colorado. They make their home in Albuquerque.
